Dinosaur Facts and Figures the Theropods and Other Dinosauriformes
This book begins with an introduction that explains how each dinosaur’s size
was calculated and how its appearance was reconstructed. Also provided is
an overview that aids in understanding what dinosaurs are. It should be noted
that each of the species records included in this book are the largest or smallest
specimens discovered, as size within a species can vary considerably.
Eight chapters follow the introduction: “Comparing Species,” “Mesozoic Calendar,”
“The World of Dinosaurs,” “Prehistoric Puzzle,” “Theropod Life,” “Testimony
in Stone,” “Chronicle and Dinomania,” and “Theropod List.” All sections
show the records and information corresponding to these chapters. It should be
noted that the identification of footprints is part of an unpublished study (Molina-
Pérez et al., manuscript in preparation). The last chapter presents a complete list
of all discovered theropods up to this edition’s publication. The book ends with
a glossary, a taxonomic index, a bibliography, and an appendix.
