A Year of Revelation
It was a hot summer afternoon in April 2016. I was travelling to Kota, the
coaching capital of India. During those years I would visit the famous city
of Kota numerous times eager to serve at ARJUNA, the NGO where we
had established a student hostel. We were imparting life skills and values to
thousands of students of Kota1
.
In April every year, Kota welcomes lakhs of anxious parents aspiring to get
their teenage children admitted to premier coaching institutes.
As I alighted from the train, I saw several families at the railway station,
parting from their teenage children before returning to their native places.
Tears, cheers, best wishes, hugs, kisses on the forehead – the railway station
was filled with an air of intense and sublime emotions. As I moved on, a
part of me was deeply moved by the overwhelming sentiment of parental
love – the intense desire of parents to sacrifice their utmost to see their
children happy and successful.
